Yetis Pheno Description

Black Truffle is a hybrid cannabis strain stemming from the mighty Gelato genetic line. While not overly prominent, Black Truffle was created and commercialized by a well-known Californian cannabis and lifestyle brand, and the strain continues to win over smokers with its strong aromas, flavours, and effects. Keep reading to learn all there is to know about the Black Truffle cannabis strain.

History of The Black Truffle Cannabis Strain

Black Truffle was created by Big Chief Extracts, a cannabis flower, extract, and lifestyle company from California. Founded by Big Chief and King Khan—two brothers and cannabis influencers—Big Chief Extracts has built up a strong following with its seeds, flower, extracts, and merchandise. The company dropped its line of flower in April 2022, with Black Truffle among the first strains to be released. Besides Black Truffle, other popular strains from Big Chief Extracts include Secret Menu, Uzumaki, and Triple Scoops. Alongside their genetics, Big Chief Extracts has gained notoriety for their selection of vape cartridges.

Genetic Lineage of Black Truffle Weed

Black Truffle is an indica-dominant hybrid cannabis strain descending from Gelato, one of the most popular cannabis strains of recent years. Bred by Mario Guzman (the founder of Sherbinskis) in 2014, Gelato introduced cannabis users to an exciting new range of flavours and aromas. Break open a bag or jar of fresh Gelato buds and enjoy as the room fills with the strain's thick, wafting aroma of fruit, pine, and earth. Light her up, however, and Gelato will delight your tastebuds with aromas of ice cream, fruit, nuts, chocolate, and spice. There are many different varieties of Gelato on the market, all of which stem from a cross of Thin Mint Cookies and Sunset Sherbet—Sherbinskis' flagship hybrid. Unfortunately, Big Chief Extracts hasn't specified which Gelato variety they used to create Black Truffle, though rumours suggest it may have been the coveted Gelato #33.

Physical Characteristics of The Black Truffle Strain

Big Chief hasn't released Black Truffle seeds or clones, nor has the brand revealed much information about its genetics or growth traits. According to pictures of Black Truffle, however, the strain seems to be notably indica-dominant. Black Truffle plants stay nice and compact, developing bushy vegetation and dense, pine tree-shaped flowers. As they mature, Black Truffle flowers have a tendency to turn deep purple. Combined with their sugary coating of trichomes, bright orange pistils, and thick clusters of swollen calyxes, Black Truffle buds boast plenty of bag appeal.

Properties/Effects of Black Truffle

According to Big Chief Extracts, Black Truffle is a moderately potent strain containing an average THC content of 18% and a rich mix of terpenes, including caryophyllene (found in black pepper, cloves, and cinnamon), terpinolene (present in tea, nutmeg, and oregano), linalool (found in lavender and rosewood), and limonene (present in citrus peels). Combined, these terpenes give Black Truffle a unique aroma that's dominated by fruity, musky, and spicy notes.

Straight out of the bag, can, or jar, Big Chief Extract's Black Truffle will hit you with fruity flavours reminiscent of grapes and berries. Grind her up, however, and you'll uncover muskier notes and hints of mango and papaya. You may also pick up on hints of roses, lavender, and fresh pine intertwined with earthy notes of chocolate and coffee. Finally, when you light her up, Black Truffle will delight you with her upfront sweetness and lingering creamy and chocolatey earthiness. All the aromatic notes of Black Truffle translate over to the strain's flavour, creating a very delicious smoke that'll impress even the pickiest users.

Almost immediately after inhaling her sweet, fruity smoke/vapour, Black Truffle will send a rush of cerebral energy jolting to the back of your head, leaving you feeling creative, chatty, and happy. Light her up at a party, and Black Truffle will loosen social inhibitions, sparking deep conversations, fits of laughter, and an overall positive, happy vibe. If you're flying solo, on the other hand, Black Truffle's initial cerebral buzz may spark introspection and invite you to kick back on the couch, bed, or garden furniture, contemplating life through a positive, rose-coloured haze.

Black Truffle is definitely considered a creeper, and her effects tend to become more physical over time. Enjoy her in the evenings, on weekends, or on holidays when you can relish her initial uplifting cerebral stimulation before kicking up your feet and relaxing guilt-free.

Uses Of Black Truffle

Black Truffle is a fairly popular strain and gets positive reviews from most users. Based on user reports, this strain is great for:

• Social settings

• Meditation and introspection

• Relaxing in the evenings

• Holidays, weekends, and lazy Sundays

• Spa days or relaxing getaways

Cannabis review sites and dispensaries report that Black Truffle is fairly popular among medical cannabis patients and generally well-tolerated. Keep in mind, however, that everyone's experience with cannabis is different. In some people, particularly users with a low tolerance for THC, Black Truffle's strength may prove overwhelming and cause unwanted side effects like:

• Dizziness

• Dry mouth and eyes

• Paranoia and anxiety

Cultivation/Production of Black Truffle

Big Chief Extracts never released Black Truffle seeds or clones. Some genetics companies and seed retailers, however, offer other versions of the strain. In general, reports suggest that Black Truffle plants are indica-dominant, grow well indoors, and flower in as little as 8–9 weeks. Unfortunately, the yields of this strain aren't known.

Black Truffle: A Creeping Gelato Hybrid

Black Truffle might not be the most popular strain on the market, but its genetics, effects, and aromas have definitely earned it a modest amount of attention from smokers. Created by Californian cannabis and lifestyle brand Big Chief Extracts, Black Truffle is known to produce extremely dark buds with deep purple hues, upfront fruity aromas, and a long-lasting, creeping high that starts in the head and ends in the body. If you're an experienced smoker with a decent tolerance and enjoy smoking strong hybrids, be sure to give Black Truffle a try. Unfortunately, home growers will be hard-pressed to get their hands on original Black Truffle genetics as Big Chief Extracts never released it in seed or clone form.
