Ez Genetics Description

NYZ is an in-house EZ Genetics selection created from a Zkittlez clone crossed with a male from Karma Genetics’ Sour D Bx2 regular stock. From this pairing, EZ Genetics selected the #14 phenotype as its preferred NYZ expression, choosing it for its vigorous, beefy structure and a terpene profile described as approximately 65% Sour and 35% Zkittlez.

The resulting line combines the sweet, candy-driven character associated with Zkittlez with the sharper sour, fuel and gas notes inherited from the Sour D side. Reported expressions can range from dry-sheet Zkittlez and sweet candy through to pronounced sour gas, with individual phenotypes showing different balances between the two sides.

Although NYZ shares its original parent stock with Karma Genetics’ Zowahh, EZ Genetics’ NYZ is an independently selected line rather than the same release. The #14 selection became an important foundation parent within EZ Genetics’ breeding programme and was subsequently used in several of the breeder’s projects, including Zkittlez Bx1 and the Oishii NYZ line.

NYZ is therefore best regarded as a foundation breeding selection within EZ Genetics rather than simply a standalone commercial cultivar. Its combination of Zkittlez candy, Sour gas and vigorous structure has made it an important component of the breeder’s later genetics.
