Basic infos

Kombucha is an unknown from Symbiotic Genetics and can be cultivated indoors (Where the plants will need a flowering time of ±67 days) Symbiotic Genetics's Kombucha is/was clone only available as feminized seeds.

Symbiotic Genetics Description

Plant Physiology:
Kombucha is a vigorous, fast-growing hybrid that quickly establishes a sturdy, bushy structure—especially after topping. The flowers display a beautiful range of colors from vibrant green with purple accents to deep royal purple, depending on the phenotype. Bud formation is typically dense and rounded, resembling large golf balls. Structurally, Kombucha shares similarities with Purple Punch in both form and processing ease but inherits Sour Diesel’s slightly looser flower density and bract arrangement.

Yield Potential:
In small test runs by Symbiotic Genetics, Kombucha has produced impressive yields of up to 99 grams per square foot. On a larger production scale from clone, growers can reliably expect 65 grams per square foot or more.

Flowering Time:
This cultivar completes its flowering cycle in 63–70 days under a 12/12 light schedule indoors or in greenhouses. In outdoor settings, most phenotypes are ready for harvest by early to mid-October.

Light Intensity Preferences:
Kombucha thrives under high light intensity conditions—whether using HPS, LED, or full sun environments—with consistent high PAR values bringing out its best expression.

Temperature Tolerance:
This variety performs exceptionally well in warm, generative environments, maintaining health and vigor throughout the cycle. Like many top-tier strains, Kombucha benefits from cooler, drier conditions during the final two weeks of flowering to enhance resin and color development.

Humidity Control:
While naturally mold-resistant, Kombucha responds best when relative humidity is gradually reduced over the last month of flower, reaching 45–50% by the final two weeks.

Water Requirements:
A heavy drinker, Kombucha demands a substantial water supply to match its rapid vegetative growth—a trait common among robust, commercial California genetics.

Nutrient Profile:
Kombucha performs well under a standard fertilizer regimen, showing no notable sensitivity to inputs or nutrient mixes. It’s more forgiving and easier to cultivate than its Sour Diesel parent, thanks to its vigorous root system and stable hybrid vigor.

Cannabinoid Profile:

  • THC: 23%
  • Total Cannabinoids: 27%

Terpene Profile:
Dominated by burned rubber and diesel notes, Kombucha brings a classic fuel-forward aroma. In hash form, expect an intense diesel flavor with lingering grape undertones on the exhale. Diesel-heavy phenotypes are the most prevalent.

Disease and Environmental Resistance:
Kombucha is hardy and resilient, showing no notable susceptibility to common diseases or environmental stress. Its Sour Diesel lineage contributes to excellent mold resistance and overall durability.

Breeder Notes:
Vince, co-founder and breeder at Symbiotic Genetics, shares insight into the project:

“Sour Diesel has always been a staple of solventless extract, and we’ve enjoyed smoking and growing it for years; however, we wanted to drastically shorten flower times, bulk up the flower and make the crop structure a little easier to manage in production form.”
