Project Background-

Blue Power is one of the marquee varieties produced by the legendary Sin City Seeds out of Las Vegas, NV, and has been synonymous with top tier herb for well over a decade. A heavy hitting cross of “Power” (B.O.G.’s Sour Dubble x Master Kush) and White Moonshine (Krome’s The White x DJ Short’s Blue Moonshine), this hybrid carries outstanding traits from all the parents involved. I was lucky enough to be gifted a Blue Power clone back in 2018 and couldn’t wait to run her!

The Blue Power clone was exceptional! Gorgeous flowers coated in a layer of thick, white trichomes that burst with delicious kushy, diesel funk with a blueberry backend. The aroma alone was enough to catch anyone’s attention, but even better than that were her effects! Extremely relaxing both physically and mentally, Blue Power became an ideal choice for helping with sleep, relaxing hang outs with friends, or anytime I needed some extra laughter in my life. I knew immediately that I wanted to work her into auto format and thought the ideal auto donor to keep frost levels high and help create a hash master would be the Forum Stomper. I made the initial F1 photo x auto cross back in 2019 and reached out to Sin City to see if he would be interested in making this an official collaboration since he hadn’t yet gotten into the world of autoflowers and he was all for it! I sent him the F1 photo x auto stock sometime around 2020 (I lost the exact date when my previous Instagram page was deleted) and from there Sin City took the ball and ran with it! Here are some words from the man himself!

F1 Selections Process & F2 Breeding -

Upon taking on this project I had just finished my first round of testing for my Blue Power IX2 line so I was super in tune with what I was looking to make the F2's. Out of the 98 Plants I ended up using #65 and #53 females as they displayed the best overall representation of the Blue Power breed standard phenotype (Unique Blueberry Master Kush smell with strong lateral branches but the classic Christmas Tree style morphology). A single male was also selected (#13) for his extreme vigor and resemblance to our Blue Power IX1 stud.”

At this point Sin City sent me back the F2 seed stock from both selections for me to run as the space opened up, but due to some unforeseen hiccups this took longer than expected. When I reached back out to him saying that I was finally getting ready to pop the F2s he replied that he had already made the F3 seed stock! Back to Sin City for more details on the project:

F2 Selections Process & F2 Breeding -

With more overall Blue Power dominated offering the F2 hunt now focused on find the best Blue Power breed standard phenos but now with Autoflowering traits as opposed to traditional photoperiod selections like we had done in the F1 selections. We again started with a count of 98 Plants and ended up using the two female standouts (#30, #45,) selected as well as another best of best auto BP male selection(#5). The females selected displayed the most Blue Power influence of the bunch and were noted to have extremely resinous flowers that were impressive to watch flower automatically (something previously not witnessed with Blue Power genetics). Morphology was classic sea of green style plants that are typical with our photoperiod Blue Power selections.”

At this point I was elated to have Sin City’s fingerprints on two generations of selection, which made things that much easier for me to move things along to the F4 generation.

The F3 were absolutely stellar plants! Short and wide Afghanica style plants with some of the largest fan leaves I’ve ever seen on autos and flower that was nothing short of incredible! I started with 45 F3 plants and whittled my selection down to two reversals and four moms to carry the F4 generation forward.

The F4 are extremely uniform hash plants that are drenched in kushy blueberry resin and carry that same powerful effect from it’s photoperiod parent. With trichome heads that fall off the stalk as they’re handled, these Blue Power Auto F4 should be fantastic yielders of all means of extraction while still producing impeccable flower to smoke! Expect medium sized, fast finishing plants that are as wide as they are tall, with dense nugs that fill the top two thirds of her sturdy branches. With a few quick snips of her first branches she can be shaped into the perfect sea of green candidate, filling out the space with outstanding uniformity and speed. The sheer amount of resin on these is something to behold, ushering in the next generation of top tier autoflowers. I cannot wait to get these into the hands of growers around the world for her to be ran in various environments and really pushed to their max! If you’re only going to try one new autoflower this year I cannot recommend the Blue Power Auto F4 enough!
