Information on Philo Toad Venom
Philo Toad Venom is the improved version of Toad Venom from Philosopher Seeds: the same gassy and funky identity as the original, but with greater aromatic depth and a creamy background that was not present before. This modern hybrid has a marked indica influence, very high resin production and elevated potency. It is ideal for growers who prioritize flower quality and terpene expression over final weight.
Genetics: Toad Venom, one step further
The goal was not to create a completely new variety, but to take Toad Venom further without losing its recognizable identity. Permanent Marker was used to add new layers to the profile, not to replace the original character. The result is a plant with medium-high vigor, a solid structure, good lateral branching and contained internode spacing.
Toad Venom
Toad Venom maintains the main character of the variety and gives it its name. It provides aromatic intensity, compact flowers and very generous trichome coverage, with a hard-to-classify profile that combines gas, funk, chemical notes and citrus nuances. Its origins are associated with the work of Ronin Seeds, resulting from Animal Face × Sin Mintz.
Permanent Marker
Permanent Marker comes from JBeezy’s work at Seed Junky Genetics and is based on Biscotti, Sherb and Jealousy. It adds floral density, resin and a creamy, funky layer that rounds out the aggressive character of the original without making it sweet. This is what sets Philo Toad Venom apart from conventional Toad Venom.
Cultivation: Compact plant with dense flowers
The stretch is medium during the first weeks, making space management easier. The indica influence is noticeable during flower formation: the calyxes cluster into very dense flowers, while trichome production increases significantly during the second half of the cycle, covering the bracts and nearby leaves. The flowering period is approximately 60–65 days, depending on the phenotype and growing conditions. Production is medium, with solid results when the plant develops its lateral structure properly. Outdoors, harvest is expected during the first week of October.
Gas, chemical funk and cream
The dominant aroma of Philo Toad Venom is intense gas with chemical funk, accompanied by creamy, sweet, citrus and floral nuances. When the flower is broken apart, new layers emerge, including fuel, cream and an elusive funky background. On the palate, the initial sensation is gassy and intense before evolving into a creamier and rounder experience, with a finish that returns to funk and remains highly persistent. Its potency is very high, placing it among the strongest varieties in the seed bank alongside Permanent Marker and Chiquita Banana.
