OG Kush Auto

Grow environment is single plant in 2'X2'X5'3" tent with ebb n' grow hydro setup, 250W HPS cool tube reflector with dedicated 185CFM centrifugal cooling fan, and separate 185CFM fan for carbon filter / odor scrubbing. Using GH FLORA expert recirculating formula with all additives. LST training starting at 15" tall, until main trunk is horizontal and parallel to floor, continuing through stretch, followed by more LST as side branches go vertical. NO TOPPING. NO LEAF PRUNING.

Just when you expect stretch to take off （as female flowers start showing）, growth slows to a crawl. As LST continues to branches, they do not develop as strongly as the other AUTO strains I have grown （Northern Lights / BigBud [2 X, 7.5 OZ], Kalashnikova [11.3 Oz], ChemDawg [5.5 OZ], BubbleGum [7.5] OZ. The yield of this strain was a huge disappointment at 2.5 oz.

When switching to bloom formula I noticed the plant has a rather severe sensitivity problem with phosphorous, so you need to scale back on bud boosters / nutes high in P. Likewise, generally needs to stay at 50 - 60% total nute strength.

The plant structure is rather unremarkable with weak side branches （did I get a sativa dominant pheno????）. The bud formations are rock hard, very impressive, just not a lot of them. Odor during growth / bloom is stronger than most other auto's I have grown, but still manageable with carbon scrubber running 50% of the time. Taste is between pine and Mexican dirt weed. Aroma when cracking a bud for consumption leans more toward a very mild skunk. Smoke quality is 7 of 10, very good, although nothing like the original OG photoperiod parent.

I may grow this once more just to see if I got a weird pheno, but if yield stays this low I would pass on future repeats of the strain.
