Mexican Sativa User comments

Altogether we've collected 8 about Sensi Seeds.

I have grown this plant twice in a hot,  high desert  type climate (40 C to 20C  day to night temp variation) .Easy to grow, forgiving of forgetting to water, not nutrient hungry.  Definitely strong sativa phenotype.   It handles hot weather with no  plant stress.  I did low stress training and still has a fair stretch to over 3 meters . Leave yourself enough room in your It makes a lot a  foxtail type buds  and I recommend thinning lower branches to increase top bud production.  The longer the buds are allowed  to  hang, the bigger they will get, but don’t expect huge colas.I harvested in late October.  It cures out nicely and will have a long shelf life if stored correctly .

Classic sandalwood, piney and herbaceous taste, smell.   It  doesn’t hit hard, not overwhelming and you can remain functional.  I prefer it  for afternoon / evening (personal preference) . But can be energizing  for daytime use. Not a sleep aid, may keep you up at night if taken late in the evening.

Thanks to Sensi Seeds for keeping this strain going and affordable.  For my climate, the  Mexican / Afghan / Durban genetics are a great mix for the classic old school folks like me. I’m going to keep this in my seed bank and grow again.

I was looking for sativa strains I could grow outdoors in Europe and harvest in November. I ultimately decided on Sensi Seeds' Mexican Sativa (and also grew Jamaican Pearl -- see separate review). But of the 5 feminized Mex-Sat seeds I ordered, only 1 popped and this was after about two weeks of careful germination efforts. Canna-Seeds generously compensated for the 4 bad seeds, giving me 4 bonus sativa seeds of other strains. Thank you Canna Seeds!

My single Mex-Sat germinated around June 25. Vegetative period in July and August, and growth was slow at first. She was topped once in late August at about 50cm, and then flowering started September 1 with a stretch of about 100% to 100cm by harvest on November 6. Aroma is a wonderful fruity, citrus smell that grew more intense before harvest, but it was never too smelly to attract attention and blow my stealth grow cover.

I experienced no mold or fungus at all, and no pests. Mexican Sativa is truly easy to grow and is cold resistant as promised. While luckily this year the weather was sunny and warm all summer into October, when the temperatures cooled off significantly and even dropped to around 0 C in the weeks just before harvest, Mex-Sat was strong and healthy with no damage to the plant or buds right up to harvest. Her yield was good, about 80 grams cured.

So if conditions are right, Mexican Sativa will ripen slowly into November as they say, and I let her trichomes get at least 60% milky-cloudy, with about 10% amber. The resulting effect is uplifting and energizing. Not overpowering, the effect is a totally pleasant exhilarating energetic very clear-headed high at first, which then settles over into a relaxing feeling after a half hour or so. I've given this effect a strength of 7, which is "not too strong" (compared to the Jamican Pearl, which is a notch stronger).

I will grow this strain again. It is right up there with my all-time favorites like Sour Diesel and Purple Maroc. Good weed!

a late flowering outdoor strain, harvest the begin to mid of November (51 N), but it has no problems with wet and cold climate, many phenos and the most sativa-ones are the best, very happy and activating high! but some other phenos are weak and have a boring hybrid-high, only 7 of 10 sprouted, one hermie, this strain does not need much nutrients, do not give them to much nitrogen!

Esetleg annak aki szeret ásni feleslegesen a kanoknak is.

Great smoke, best to be a bushy plant, to get best yeild. Defenetly had no problems with the HID light, leaves turned purplish near the end and the buds were full of resin.

greenhouse grow lat52. very late flowering.loose sativa buds.pretty mould resistant even for such late flowering. nice strong high. but really a bit too late for my liking

Just like Sensi Seeds description of the strain. Very beginner friendly, easy to grow, and will produce very large buds come harvest.

These ladies grow very large, so it would be recommended to tie them down to allow a non-Christmas tree like shape, and to allow side branching to fill out.

Finishes anytime from the end of September to mid/late October.

For the price, a very recommended strain.
