Ethos Genetics Description

Are you ready to discover a completely new strain? Or perhaps learn more about a cultivar you’ve only tried a couple of times? Well, prepare to find out everything worth knowing about Member Berry below. We’ll cover her history and genetic lineage, flavor, effects, and physical characteristics.

Strain History of Member Berry

Member Berry came about thanks to breeders over at Denver-based Ethos Genetics. This seed bank has become well-known for its diverse range of regular and feminized genetics, with Member Berry among the most celebrated.

This strain hasn’t won any major awards or cups, and hasn’t yet ascended to the great height of the classics. However, it has amassed an impressive level of prestige through word of mouth, attracting many smokers and growers based on its impressive genetic lineage. Member Berry has had the greatest impact in its home country of the US, where it is available at many dispensaries in legal states.

Genetic Lineage of Member Berry

This indica-dominant hybrid descends from two popular parent varieties, each of which endowed Member Berry with an array of sought-after traits.

• Skunkberry: This strain derives from a truly special pairing of Skunk and Blueberry. The result is a variety with a perfect balance of 50% sativa genetics and 50% indica. Her moderate THC content of 15% serves up a relaxing and creative high, and every hit delivers a pungent and fruity mix of terpenes. Not surprisingly, this cultivar went on to win Best Hybrid at the High Times Cannabis Cup in 2012. Skunkberry genetics are mostly limited to clones. Overall, these plants grow well both indoors and outdoors and boast a brief flowering time of approximately 9 weeks.

• Mandarin Sunset: This indica-dominant strain also emerged from Ethos Genetics, and was created by crossing Herijuana with Orange Skunk. This carefully selected pairing produced a progeny with an average THC content of 23% and a particularly fruity and skunky terpene profile. Such an attractive phytochemical profile enabled Mandarin Sunset to win several cannabis cups in both flower and extract categories. Hit these buds, and you’ll experience a fast-acting physical high that stones the body while keeping the mind relatively clear and lucid. In the grow room or garden, Mandarin Sunset maintains a medium height and completes its flowering phase in around 60–65 days.

Physical Characteristics of Member Berry

When it comes to physical characteristics, Member Berry possesses a mix of traits handed down by both of its parents. In true indica fashion, the plants exhibit a bushy growing pattern defined by short internodes and thick branches. Left untrained, Member Berry develops a large central cola and smaller surrounding terminal buds. You can expect the plants to reach a height of around 180cm when given plenty of root space. When topped and trained, plants develop numerous main colas and max out at a smaller height of around 80cm.

Once dried and manicured, Member Berry's colas feature a nugget-like shape with a rounded tip. The buds present average trichome density; they aren’t brilliant-white like those of some cultivars. However, they still produce a generous coating of aromatic resin.

Member Berry features a rather run-of-the-mill color palette. Plants maintain a dark green appearance throughout the entire growing cycle, with slight yellowing of the foliage during the latter stages of the flowering phase.

Properties and Effects of Member Berry

Member Berry produces a chiefly stoning and physically relaxing high. She soothes the body while treating the mind to transient bouts of euphoria and creative thoughts. These effects derive from an average THC content of 23% and high levels of terpenes caryophyllene, humulene, and myrcene. Small quantities of CBD and CBG also contribute a clear-headed element to the high.

Uses of Member Berry

• Recreational uses: Many cannabis users opt to smoke Member Berry because she offers a pleasant and relaxing recreational experience. Some smokers select Member Berry when looking to produce artistic work or engage in some divergent thinking and brainstorming. Others find the strain to promote a fun-filled day with close friends.

• Medical uses: Some medical users find that she hits the spot when it comes to symptomatic relief. Member Berry's relaxing terpenes and high THC content help some people feel grounded and calm. Moreover, Member Berry produces a tension-relieving effect that may help individuals achieve restful sleep. Although the research surrounding cannabis and pain remains inconclusive, some users find that Member Berry helps to take the edge off of persistent discomfort.

• Side effects: Member Berry is also capable of producing mild side effects, including dry mouth and eyes and, in higher doses, paranoia and anxiety.

Cultivation and Production of Member Berry

Member Berry possesses relatively hardy genetics and does well both indoors and outdoors. Her small stature, when trained, makes her ideal for growers dealing with limited space, and her fast flowering time makes her a sensible pick for outdoor growers in areas with a short growing season. Indoor plants under powerful lights offer a return of 240–320g/m². Outdoors, you can expect a medium yield from plants grown in a sunny position.

Overall, Member Berry delivers a powerful stoning high fueled by high levels of THC and plenty of myrcene. Many smokers choose to reserve these buds for quiet afternoons and evenings when they can afford to sit back and completely chill out. While she doesn’t deliver the massive yields of towering sativa strains, the potency of her buds means you get great bang for your buck!
