Basic infos

KC 45 is an ruderalis / sativa from KC Brains Holland and can be cultivated indoors and outdoors (Where the plants will need a flowering time of ±63 days) KC Brains Holland's KC 45 also available as feminized seeds.

KC Brains Holland Description

The KC-45 is an unusual variety among the many selections on the market due to her partial ruderalis heritage. Ruderalis is a distinct Russian subspecies of cannabis whose most notable characteristic is autoflowering. Unlike indica and sativa strains, ruderalis is not triggered into flowering based on the number of hours of darkness. Ruderalis begins flowering automatically after growing to a certain age, even outdoors in her native Russia. KC's ruderalis-sativa hybrid, K.C. 45 bounces back from stress conditions and can perform in cloudy weather due to its ruderalis mother's minimal need for externally triggered flowering. Meanwhile, its sativa father ensures a strong, euphoric high.

While KC-45 can be grown under lights, it is more appropriate for outdoor gardens. This multi-branched plant grows best in soil, especially with an organic fertilizing program. Once it roots, KC-45 will grow to a nearly 7-foot-tall Christmas tree, whose impressively long branches remain bare of leaves near the stem, but support meter-long colas. In outdoor environments, this plant will ripen by September 15; indoors, it takes 8-10 weeks to finish flowering.

Indoor plants are very high yielders, and outdoor yields can weigh in at over 3 pounds per plant. The buds that form are long and cylindrical. The colas are compact but not tight, because the individual flowers that make up the cola are slender rather than plump.

The smell from this plant is localized, but will burst with a strong lemon odor when touched. When smoked, the KC-45 high comes on rapid and strong. It retains the uplifting stone of its Brazilian sativa parentage, but modified a bit by the ruderalis, making this smoke less hyper than a pure sativa. The result is an energetic yet calm and settling high, well suited to gardening, hiking or leisurely sports. Medicinally, this variety has provided relief to some migraine sufferers and also is good for any condition which causes lethrgy, as it can improve energy levels.

Altogether we've collected 7 about KC Brains Holland.
Bought 5 regular seed because of the Ruderalis being less needing of lightas was planning an outdoor winter grow but never got around to it. I got 100% germination, 4/5 female and 1/5 male. 1 female didn't make it so I have three plants currently.started indoors and now three months into the outdoor grow. Two are Phenotype #1 and are currently 1m and 1.5 m high, still vegging with immature heads. The one I am describing here is the third which is short and compact (miniature xmas tree) with basically all mature colas and little/no branches at this point, very aromatic, extremely sticky and full of milky trichomes. I have smoked this after a short cure(1 week)and enjoyed it thoroughly, found the first hour energising and fun, and then a period of highly enjoyable relaxation, giggles and munchies. We also found we had no need to smoke again for a few hours which is 'highly' unusual. Will upload a pic showing all three, using a standard tin can for size comparison.) (Fyi I am in the Southern Hemisphere so in early summer)

Tranquillo, all of you panic merchants. This IS an auto-flowering strain- It»s just a massive variety and it»s not going to begin flowering until it is pretty big; it can«t produce big yields over night, can it? This should end up over two meters tall if unpruned and well rooted and I genuinely think it could produce a kilo outdoors, without too much difficulty. So be prepared because, like an auto, this will NOT stop growing just because you«ve chickened out and put it on a 12/12.

On arrival, two of my seeds did look a bit ropey. I had a pot from which I»d just cut down a plant and for the sake of it and without so much as a flush, I chucked them in. Well, one came up and like a cuckoo, it took over the show. I«ve tried a superauto before; it cost a fortune and was scrawny rubbish. This girl is a MONSTER, I»ve never known a plant like it; she just wants to get big so she can produce bud. Believe me, it»s more disconcerting than it sounds if you’re tight for space and you weren«t expecting it. She came up like a jack-in-a-box, produced massive great fan leaves at six or eight inches tall and from then on in, I could barely keep her under control. She’s easy to grow and doesn»t give a stuff about the light cycle-I«ve grown her indoors and out, but she does need to get at least four or five feet tall before the magic begins to happen, so don»t panic. It«s a very unusual and useful strain in my estimation and a good smoke, so long as you like ’em large.

Long story short, I took some cuttings. One survived, I hit it with silver thiosulphate and hey presto; feminised seeds. And I still have the eight originals! Leave the bud on the plant too long and the lovely lemon flavour leaves and you just get pine resin. Serious guerrilla strain for peanuts. I«ve tried KC36 also- great strain; short, stout, tough and tasty, and I have Bahia Blackhead, Mindbender and Double D in storage. It doesn»t matter how much you pay for seeds; I«ve tried two or three dozen different varieties, Photo and Auto, cheap and expensive- you can screw them up just as easily. KC Brains really does provide top notch seeds for virtually nothing.

This was my first official harvest. We had a rough start with me being a novice. I used organic kellogg soil and a combination of CFL and sun for the beginning of the grow resulting in 24h light. This plant experienced a lot of stress with being moved from indoor to outdoor during the grow phase, but recovered strong. This plant experienced some damage and slow growth from being outside, but the intentions are to use the stress from early on to harden the plant for a re-veg which is currently happening. This is along the lines of the germ theory which to me imho means without the stress you cant adapt to it. Flowering did not happen as in auto flower breeds or delayed due to stress, but flowered when the light cycle was changed to 12/12. She was then kept 100% indoors 2 weeks prior to flowering using a 135w 3w blackstar LED. No added CO2 was used. Nutrients include Earth Juice Bloom, Nirvana in H20 and foliar, and royal gold fulvic acid in H20 and foliar. I used nutrients 3x week with watering. The light was placed too far from the LED which caused dramatic stretch and yield reduction, but the quality is on point. Lots of pistils and trichomes. Clean lemon smell throughout flowering. She was harvested on day 60 due to timing constraints. Bud cola was approx 4 inches long and 2 inches thick. Total harvest was small, but probably related to errors in grow and stretch. The end result is my very own top shelf KC45. Comparable to top shelf I use from medical disp. Clear headed, energetic, mod. body effects from small amounts.
