Durban Poison User comments

Altogether we've collected 19 about Dutch Passion.
I grew 3 of them last year in a qite sunny spot one of them started growing really vigorously but later on suffered a lot because of the lack of wather (grew them gorilla and it did'n rain for about 6 weeks)it was of the long slowly blossoming pheno. The other grew both of ordinary height but one had really short side branches. In the end they didn't yeld as much as the other plant(swiss chese by nirvana seeds) which moreover could take better the lack of watering ; the final product anywhay has a good despite not so strong smell and hits strong .

grew durban poison twice , last year and 3 years ago, she is definitely a keeper , best afternoon strain i have smoked so far .

yes , it's not the best producer but delivers an honest amount of the finest herb with just a bit of care and watering thus i would totally recommend

Have something to say about the previous comment from the user 'mawgwa': Druban Poison is a sativa landrace that naturally doesn't need long to finish, that's what's so special about her, looking at my pictures you can see there's no doubt about her beeing a sativa.

Though, I had a long flowering durban-pheno which also turned purple even though the temperature was held about 26-28°C and about 23°C at night. She became a real beauty, the color nearly got pink and the buds very very sativa-like.

I once smoked original Durban Poison in Amsterdam, imported outdoor weed from Durban, South-Africa. Was by far the raciest high I've ever had, unbelievable! The Meth between all the weed strains (haha).

Quite the same effect with my indoor grown Durban, clear, uplifting and looonglasting high but not as strong, I've had phenos with stronger, more psycedelic effects... Those always were denser and greener buds covered in trichomes and tasted similar to Haze, but still very different and unique. Mine smells and tastes like flowers/roses with a liqueury background.

Grown 100% organic in SUPERSOIL/LIVING SOIL under 180w (total draw) Cree Led's with additional OSRAM Duris Led panels (all together 240w). My first LED grow.

Also been growing the Durban Poison outdoors for years, northern latitude, southern Germany. Finishes between end of september to mid of october, very strong and resistent plant and you can get more than a kilo (!!) dried purpled buds from one plant if you know what you are doing, IN GERMANY! I do recommend this plant to everyone who's in need of uplifting effects and unusual aromas or people who want weed that is not geneticly modified so much. For northern latitude, it's a good keeper for querilla growers.

dutch passion durban poison is probably not an authentic landrace durban just going by the relatively short flower period and the look and structure of the plant and buds but with a plant this good, i for one dont care. This is an admirable plant, the struccture is about perfect, its very consistent and trustworthy, it is vigorous and easy to grow, has great yeilds of quite potent buds that should be enuf to please and satisfy even choosy mothers.I had only 1 seed and due to cloning, I still have durban in the room 3 years later. Alot have come and gone while she is still proving her worth. I cant imagine anyone not being happy that they grew this strain. Mawgwa

Augusztus elején kezdi a virágzást ezért tele lesz maggal ha nincs védett helyen.

Mediterranean climate. Germinated beginning of May, Placed in 100-300 gallons of soil (378-1130 liters) on South facing hill at 4300 feet elevation with full day sun except early morning. Grown organically.

Summer/veg climate: Temperature daytime : 65-95, nighttime: 50-70. Humidity RH =10%-35%.

Fall/flowering climate: Temperature daytime: 50-95, nighttime: 40-60, humidity RH=20%-60%.

High: Expresso like, clear and intense pure energy. Zero come down or lethargy, VERY clean high that feels like you didnt even smoke if you let it taper off over a couple hours.

Smell: All the plants had "similar" smells but slightly different. They were all mild, but in a "refined" way, similar to tea. All were sweet smelling, hints of licorice and lemon, earthy and exotic.

Taste: The taste is very strong and will be just as it smells (this is in a volcanco vaporizer)

Their were two main phenos: one perfect for outdoor, one perfect for indoor.

Outdoor pheno: grows like xmas tree, very good light and air penetration between plant. Strong stem that can handle the wind, though will need to be wrapped if you want to prevent the VERY long outstretched bottom branches that can break with high winds. In 100 gallon pot yielded ~3.5 pounds, 1.5 kg. The plant in a 300 gallon pot yield 7 pounds (3 kg).

Indoor pheno: shorter and more squat. In one of my 100 gallon pots the plant was only 5' tall, 4' wide and it yielded around 4 or 5 pounds, 2 kg. The plant in a 200 gallon yielded around 6 pounds, 2.7kg. This pheno is not built as sturdy or tough as the outdoor, but not weak by any means. Less "open" then outdoor pheno so light and air do not penetrate as well....but the colas were no joke thicker then my arms...and the high was just the same as the other, a pure clean expresso like sativa.

For a Sativa the buds are extremely dense, if you were to compare it to hybrids/indicas I would describe it was rather dense, the buds are well connected and formed and are not airy.

Also I harvest in intervals, allowing my middle and inner nugs to fill out, increasing overall yield.

The Medicinal cannabis dispensary I take my product too sent it to a lab and it came back as 19.7% THC. This was from a pack of "middle" or 2nd harvested nugs.

Great strain for outdoor UK. big, fat buds that are fairly compact and smell like liquorice haze. Lovely plant, absolute winner. 5oz plus.

I grew mine guerilla style topped once and LST/Suppercropped.

It was ready early with yield around 300 grams.

The smell/taste isnt that good nor strong. The high is happy, uplifting a bit tiring at the end.

I would grow this again cuz its fast with good yield and quite nice high.
Posted by BalkanSmurf on 29-07-2014 17:28
Does not smell very strong (plant and dried buds) but therefore very nice. Branches should be supported, otherwise they are tending to break. Nice smoke but do not expect a bomb.

I would buy seeds again.
