Additional Information

ThunderDownUnder says

This was my first auto grow. I usually grow photos.

I grew a Dark Devil auto in Soil grown under LED lighting. I heard of a lot of rumours not to top autos so I figured that I would give it a go and see what happens. I topped her at the 3rd node which was around week 2 and LST'd the branches as they grew out. She displayed a beautiful vigor since sprouting and handled the topping like a breeze. Breaking it's apical dominance saw it produce 6 tops instead of the traditional one large main cola. This allowed me to keep the plant short and productive (it ended up being 80 cm tall and topping gave it great structure and helped it to grow the buds out evenly). Not too sure on yield but I let her go all the way to 80 days from seed. She seemed to pack on decent weight and the flowers had a nice density to them without being too rock hard.

The particular pheno I grew didn't have the dark purple almost black leaves I have seen on other Dark Devil and mainly stayed green until the end of flush leading to a natural yellowing.

It almost grew like an XL auto.

The flowers produced beautiful violet hues and I can see what Sweet Seeds mean when they say that the Dark Devil buds will dry up to an almost black colour.

Highly recommend this strain! looks very stable and highly resistant to pests, temperature fluctuations and fungal infections.

Developed a very complex aroma mixture that consisted of; Earthy, Piney, Citrus, Musky, Sweet, Incense like smells.
