Runtz is one of the US genetics with the most hype for a long time. The prestigious Leafly magazine nominated it as the best strain of the year 2020.

In 2017 the rapper Yung LB, member of Cookie Fam, presented some Runtz buds at the Emerald Cup in Santa Rosa. This was the turning point where the cannabis community realised the potential of this cannabis variety. Runtz is the result of the encounter between two highly sought after genetics in the US dispensaries, Gelato #33 （also known as Larry Bird） and Zkittlez. On the one hand Gelato #33 is considered by many one of the best phenotypes that Gelato can produce, with beautiful colours, Kush flavours and a really surprising resin quality. On the other hand Zkittlez, a cross between Terp Hogz and 3rd Gen Family that has been awarded numerous cups since 2015. It is considered by many to be the variety with the most surprising terpenes in the cannabis scene, with sour and sweet tropical fruit flavours.

True OG is the other parental, a fully Indica strain also only available in elite cutting form. It is claimed to have remained intact since '96 and has not been crossed with any other plants, unlike most OG's these days. It is also known as Kobe OG. It is a plant notable for its earthy Kush aroma with hashish notes and a lemony citric component. The quality of its flowers is extraordinary, with resin to elaborate very high level extractions.

Bruntz is a plant that develops well and with no complications. It can easily double in size during flowering. It adapts well to all types of cultivation, where in late flowering it shows beautiful colourations. Most of its lineage offers Zkittlez-influenced tropical flavours, with a sweet hashish Old School Kush hint. It delivers a really strong and relaxing effect, not recommended to start the day if you want to be productive, but better later in the day.
