ACE Seeds Description

The Balkh Hashplant is one of the most legendary Afghan landrace cultivars, known for its sweet and fruity aroma and centuries-long history in producing premium-quality hashish. This pure indica landrace offers a classic Afghan experience prized by growers, breeders, and hash connoisseurs worldwide.

Afghanistan is home to the world’s oldest hashish culture, and Balkh province is considered the epicenter of this tradition. Some of the finest sieved hashish originates from this region, including the famous “Milk of Mazar” and “Old Golden One”. According to legend, Baba Ku, the renowned healer who first introduced cannabis to Afghanistan, was buried near the city of Balkh.

Like many pure Afghan landraces, Balkh Hashplant produces a clear, uplifting stone combined with a pleasant, relaxing body effect. Unlike many modern indica-dominant hybrids, the effect is not couch-locking; it is relaxing, introspective, and de-stressing. Potency varies naturally between plants, depending on the THC to CBD ratio, ranging from high CBD–low THC to low CBD–high THC phenotypes.

This cultivar is easy to grow and flowers relatively quickly. Early growth stages show similar plant appearances, but as flowering progresses, a wide variety of aromas, colors, and shapes emerge. Leaves may range from broad to narrow, typical of North Afghan landraces.

• Fast-flowering phenotypes: 9–10 weeks, broad leaflets, moderate yields.
• Longer-flowering phenotypes: 10–11 weeks, high-yielding, sometimes with stunningly dark leaves and flowers (up to 10% of plants gradually turn black).

Thanks to its high genetic diversity, Balkh Hashplant is ideal for pheno-hunters and breeders searching for rare or unique landrace traits.

• Requires moderate feeding, slightly more nutrients than typical landraces, but less than modern hybrids.
• Compact, bushy structure with a sturdy main stem; buds are heavy but rarely need support.
• Recommended 2+ weeks of vegetative growth before switching to flower to maximize yields and plant stability.

Landrace Genetics acquired these seeds near Balkh city in 2018. The Khalifa team has refined them for indoor cultivation, reducing hermaphroditism and undesirable phenotypes while maintaining rich genetic diversity.
