Philosopher Seeds Description

Apple Fritter is a relatively new variety offered in Europe, ye a splash in the US since 2016 thanks to its organoleptic attributes, a high THC and abundant yield. It earned a well-deserved 2nd place in the High Times Cannabis Cup in California, hybrid cannabis category. From here it has done nothing but continue to forge its recognition among the most select US underground growers.

Apple Fritter is certainly the strain of choice by Lumpy's Flowers. The California based breeder who set its exotic terpene and high THC levels. Apple Fritter is the encounter between Sour Apple (Top Shelf) and Animal Cookies, high potency and flavourful strains from the Diesel and Cookies families. The Sour Apple cutting used (Sour Diesel x Cinderella 99) is noted for its fruity apple sweetness, and Animal Cookies brings sugary, earthy undertones, a Girl Scout Cookies and Fire OG lineage heritage.

Apple Fritter is not available in seed format, only cuttings, so Philosophers Seeds has developed a backcross (BX) with Animal Cookies, a strain also available as a limited edition in S1 form (true to the original cutting) in the Philosopher Seeds catalogue.

Apple Fritter is an Indica dominant hybrid that performs very well in all types of cultivations. Outdoors, in the most humid climates, it is necessary to pay special attention as the flowers reach good size and compactness and can be affected by fungi such as botrytis.

Indoors, it adapts easily to small tends cultivated using the SOG technique. It can be cultivated 100% organically or hydroponically, preventing the accumulation of salts in the substrate. It is a hybrid that does not like overfeeding and prefers light and spaced fertilisers.

It is advisable to stake the main branches. The buds acquire great weight and consistency during the second half of the flowering stage. The branches may have difficulty to stand upright due to the weight. Apple Fritter is ready to harvest after about 9 weeks, with a yield over 500g in a 120cm x 120cm grow tent.

Outdoors, cultivated in open ground, in good soil rich in organic matter, it can exceed a yield of 700g per plant, certainly becoming a real monster. If the temperature conditions are right it tends to show beautiful blue and purple colourations during and before flushing, increasing the plant attractiveness.
