Candies Seed Co Description

Animal Mints x Permanent Marker is a feminized variety from Candies Seed Co that brings together two current references from the Californian scene in a hybrid with a very distinct profile. Its signature is a mint and cookie aroma pushed toward a soapy funk with a gassy background, accompanied by high potency and an effect oriented toward the afternoon and evening. It is ideal for growers seeking intense terpenes with a modern character capable of filling the room.

Genetics: Cookie Mint with the Permanent Marker signature

This seed is part of the Permanent Marker VOL.1 line, a collection in which the breeder crosses different guest genetics with Permanent Marker to explore its characteristic funk. In this case, the guest is Animal Mints, a creation from Seed Junky Genetics resulting from the cross between Animal Cookies and SinMint Cookies.

Animal Mints contributes the menthol note, the cookie depth, and a denser aromatic base. Permanent Marker, whose lineage combines Biscotti, Sherb Bx, and Jealousy, adds its highly recognizable soapy funk, floral and gassy notes, and a very defined contemporary presence. The result is a cross with a clear identity within the Permanent Marker family, where some variation can be expected depending on the phenotype and cultivation method.

In cultivation: Balanced photoperiod and medium production

This is a photoperiod variety, so flowering begins when the photoperiod is reduced, providing full control over timing when grown indoors. Its flowering cycle is around 8 to 10 weeks, a reasonable range for genetics of this flavor profile.

Expected production is medium, consistent with a cross selected more for its aromatic profile and potency than for pure volume. As a hybrid with parents from different lineages, it is advisable to observe the plants during cultivation, as expression may vary between phenotypes and according to each grower’s conditions.

Flavor and effect: Mint, cookie, soap, and gas

The Animal Mints x Permanent Marker profile starts with a fresh mint aroma and cookie base before evolving toward a funky, soapy, and gassy background that gives it a more aggressive and contemporary touch. It is an intense and expansive aroma, designed for those who enjoy terpenes that make themselves known from the first moment.

As for the effect, the breeder positions it as an option for the afternoon and evening, with a solid presence that pairs well with moments of relaxation at the end of the day. All of this is supported by high potency, one of the defining traits of this variety from the Permanent Marker collection.
