White Taffi is an unknown from Doja Seeds y se puede cultivar indoors Doja Seeds y White Taffi es/fue solo clon disponible como semillas feminizadas.
In 2022, Rusty (aka the Duke of Erb) used a male from his Afternoon Pineapple to pollinate a Gelato 41 cut I had received from Ted at Alien Labs. Together with Dave from Preferred Gardens, we phenohunted the resulting Gelato 41 × Afternoon Pineapple cross—internally called P41—and identified a standout plant. This pheno showed strong traits from both parents and had a structure that made it highly viable for production.
We distributed clones of the selected P41 to our contracted cultivations in Sacramento, Florida, and Arizona, as well as to affiliates in New York and Oklahoma City. We also returned the cut to Rusty so he could begin creating new crosses from it. He went on to work it into several staple lines, including Gelonade, Permanent Marker, LCG, Mochi, and Duke’s Crumpets, among others.
A few months later, as test batches began coming back from our cultivation partners, I noticed something odd: the plants didn’t match the original P41 pheno we had selected with Dave. At first, I assumed it might just be natural expression differences across clone generations, but the inconsistency was too significant to ignore. Eventually, we received a batch that we knew for certain came from the original mother plant—and it was still clearly different.
At that point, we realized we had distributed an unidentified cut to multiple growers, and Rusty had already made seeds from it for upcoming releases planned for Spannabis in Barcelona. I contacted Dave at Preferred Gardens, and we traced the material back to its origin. It turned out the cut had come from a grower in Grass Valley, California. It had originally been labeled “Zoap,” but upon testing it clearly was not Zoap. Dave had kept it in veg due to its unique characteristics, but somewhere along the way, a mix-up occurred and it was mistakenly released as P41.
Faced with this, I had to make a decision. Rather than immediately discarding it, I started thinking about how people had reacted to it—every time it showed up, it stood out. I considered all the crosses Rusty had already made and imagined what they might turn into. The idea became more and more intriguing.
I took a small sample from a tester pack and rolled a joint of the unknown cut. While smoking it, I kept running through scenarios in my head: how would I explain this to Rusty? What would we call it if we kept it? And most importantly—what exactly was it?
I had never seen or smelled anything quite like it. The aroma was creamy menthol layered with gassy, nutty white chocolate and tropical fruit. The smoke was flavorful with a strong but pleasant expansion. It reminded me of “white mystery” Airheads candy—something familiar yet undefined. Given that it was literally a mystery, the name came naturally: White Taffi.
I explained everything to Rusty, and we agreed to move forward with it and evaluate the new crosses. The results exceeded expectations. Many of the standout phenotypes in our breeding program came directly from White Taffi crosses, and today it has become one of the top-selling varieties in our catalog.
People are drawn to its unique profile—and so am I. The most common question I get is still: “What is it?” The honest answer is simple—I don’t know.
You can’t really fabricate moments like this. It was a mix-up, but one that felt like a gift from the plant itself, guiding us further in our journey.
Thank you, Mother Earth.
