The plants respond well to topping, fimming, super cropping, and other training techniques.

Growers can also use foliar sprays such as water and apple cider vinegar solutions to stop the spread of powdery mildew.

Due to the density and frost of the buds, some Sugar Mint plants may be prone to bud rot. Growers can prevent bud rot by lightly pruning the plants, providing sufficient ventilation, and keeping the humidity level below 50 percent during the flowering period.
