Old World Organics's image

My father began collecting seeds in 1964, during his first tour in SE Asia with a special warfare group. He was there until after the Tet Offensive, when he decided to do something else with his life. After his time in the military, he became a television journalist with a major US network, allowing him access to places around the world where most westerners are generally not welcome. Unbeknownst to his children, he had been collecting rare cannabis varieties during these travels, keeping his stock viable through proper storage and by propagating and acclimatizing new seeds every three years.

Later in his life, my father and I bonded over our mutual love of the plant, which he had kept a closely guarded secret for most of my life. Being a horticulture student at the time, I began working these lines (as well as my personal collection) on our family farms in Yamhill and Clatsop Counties. In 2009 we began growing for a group of marginalized HIV patients, and Old World Organics was born.
