Banana Fruit Cake is the ultimate gift, at any time of year. To create this cultivar, Greenpoint Seeds has combined two powerful Cookies varieties—Black Banana Cookies and Animal Cookies—giving growers and users a and aromatic hybrid that improves upon the Cookies family

Banana Fruit Cake brings together the best qualities of these two unique aroma and generous yield of Black Banana Cookies, and the exceptional and density of Animal Cookies.

To create Banana Fruit Cake, Greenpoint Seeds used the Cookies Family’s clone-only cut of Animal Cookies to pollinate the prized Black Banana Cookies from Solfire Gardens. Banana Fruit Cake offers many phenotypes that exhibit the stellar qualities of both parents. Some phenotypes may provide the well-balanced and fruity flavor of Black Banana Cookies, and others may share the narcotic and sweet-and-sour scent of Animal Cookies.

Banana Fruit Cake is a feminized hybrid. Feminized seeds simplify the growing process by doing away with the need to remove male plants from the garden. Roughly 99.9 percent of feminized seeds produce female plants. This means that growers can be sure that nearly every Banana Fruit Cake seed will produce a sexually stable female cannabis plant.

Aroma

Banana Fruit Cake brings together the fruity aroma of Black Banana Cookies with the sweet, funky bouquet of Animal Cookies, creating a dessert-themed that is highly aromatic. Structure

Much like its parents, Banana Fruit Cake is medium to tall in height, with long branches that have significant internodal spacing. This forms medium-size colas that are heavily dusted with trichomes. The flowers are dense and frosty, and display hues of lime green and purple. Some Black Banana Cookies-dominant phenotypes may form larger colas than the other plants. Many phenotypes will display shades of purple and red when exposed to cold temperatures.

Growing Banana Fruit Cake

Banana Fruit Cake offers the bag appeal of Animal Cookies and the hardiness and vigor of Black Banana Cookies. This variety is easier to grow than Animal Cookies and is resilient to many pests and diseases. Banana Fruit Cake is an adaptable and can be grown both indoors and outdoors. When grown outdoors, Banana Fruit Cake favors a temperate climate with low to moderate humidity.

Many phenotypes of Banana Fruit Cake stretch significantly during the flowering period. Growers can control the height of the plants by using training methods such as fimming, topping, and super cropping during the vegetative growth phase. This will serve to limit the stretch and boost the yield of Banana Fruit Cake.

Pest & Disease Control

Banana Fruit Cake is resistant to most pests and diseases, but some plants may be prone to infections of powdery mildew. To prevent powdery mildew infections, growers can regularly prune the leaves, make sure the grow room has lots of airflow, and keep the humidity low. Foliar sprays such as water and sodium bicarbonate solutions may help stop the spread of powdery mildew.

Due to the density of Banana Fruit Cake’s flowers, some phenotypes may be susceptible to bud rot, also known as botrytis. To prevent bud rot from ruining the flowers, growers should avoid overwatering the plants, offer lots of lighting and airflow, and keep the humidity low, particularly during the flowering phase.

Growers can prevent calcium and magnesium deficiencies by adding a cal-mag supplement to the regular nutrient schedule or amending the growing medium with dolomite lime and Epsom salt. Most growers use a pH meter or pH strips when mixing nutrient solutions. This helps ensure that the plants receive a consistent pH and can absorb the optimum amount of nutrients.
